The Five Hardest Cities to Find iPhone and Web Developer Jobs

FoneGigs compiles a list of the easiest and hardest cities to find Web, iPhone and Android developer jobs

Houston, TX, March 11, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Web Developer job board FoneGigs is releasing the 2011 Web and Mobile Developer Job Outlook that ranks cities from easiest to toughest in terms of likely finding a job for web and mobile programmers. Collecting data from the United States Census Bureau and online job aggregator Indeed.com, FoneGigs points out that although the majority of jobs are in cities like New York and Chicago, it is easier to find a job in Boulder where there are 2.08 web developer job listings per 1,000 residents making it the 18th easiest place to find a gig versus New York which comes in 66th place.

“Although there are several cities like Beaumont, Flint, Garden Grove, and Odessa with a population of 100,000 or more that did not even rank in the list, surprisingly there are 5 major metropolitan areas including Los Angeles where it is really difficult to find a web developer job,” said Eric Melchor, FoneGigs founder.

The study also includes:

· Cities where it is easier to find an iPhone developer job versus an Android developer job
· The average annual salary for Web Developer jobs in the top 10 easiest cities to find a job
· Rankings of US cities with a population of 100,000 or more (276 total)
