Burgundy Wine Interview with Allen Meadows

Burgundy wine is a complex subject, but Allen Meadows has a gift for explaining it in a way that anyone interested in wine can understand. Building on the interview, several wine professionals elaborate on the subject of what makes a good wine and why Burgundy is different. Caroline Lestimé of Domaine Jean-Noël Gagnard also reports on the 2006 growing season at Chassagne-Montrachet so far.

Louisville, KY, February 21, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The latest edition of the WineLoversPage.com TalkShoe featured an interview with Allen "Burghound" Meadows, who's over on the Côte d'Or this month, as centerpiece of a discussion about touring and tasting Burgundy in Monday's interactive Internet radio TalkShoe. Allen Meadows is one of the world's foremost experts on Burgundy wine and the Burgundy region of France.

Following Meadows' comments, Robin Garr of WineLoversPage.com and Lauriann Greene of French Wine Explorers discuss the differences between Burgundy and Bordeaux and other regions and talk about the specificity of the wines produced there from both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. While Bordeaux can be blended to compensate for any problems with weather during a particular vintage, Burgundy can not since it is a mono-cepage, i.e., made from a single grape varietal.

Information about traveling and enjoying the region is also discussed in the 45 minute podcast. All episodes are available for download at http://wineloverspage.com/talkshoe
