Samurai Karate to Host Free Anti-Bully Workshop
Columbia, SC, March 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Sensei Chris Feldt, owner and chief instructor for Samurai Karate Studio, announced today that he will be holding a Free anti-bully workshop at his school on Saturday, March 26th at 10:00am. Children, 8 years and older, and their parents are invited.
Samurai Karate Studio is located in Richland Northeast Columbia, approximately 3 miles from the Village of Sandhills.
"Bullying is such a major problem in the schools today. It is predicted that 3 out of 4 children will be effected by bullying by the time they graduate high school," commented Feldt. While local schools all have strict bullying programs, along with a zero tolerance for fighting, I have met with numerous children who are still being bullied in school."
Feldt said, "The schools have the best intentions, however, I truly believe they are not giving the children right the tools to 'fight back!' And I don't mean fight back in the physical sense, I mean, give them the tools that will help them confront the bully and address ways they can deal with that person without resorting to violence!"
Feldt said he was bullied as a child, several times, and by more than one person and he knows first hand how helpless a child can feel when they are continually being bullied.
"As part of my community service initiative for my karate school, I will be offering a free anti-bully workshop on Saturday, March 26th at 10:00am," stated Feldt. "This is an interactive workshop, where the students can participate. Depending on the number of children attending, this workshop will last approximately 1 hour."
During this workshop, children will be given the tools to recognize bullying, refuse it and learn how to report it.
While this workshop is free, Samurai Karate is asking for donations to their Alabama Project, where Sensei Feldt and other fellow martial artists from around the United States, will be building a women a new home in Greensboro, AL in early April.
Please email Sensei Fedt at samuraikarate@bellsouth.net or call him at 803-462-9425 to register for this event.
