NAPNAP to Chart the Course for Advocacy and Innovation for Children’s Health at 32nd Annual Conference

NAPNAP will hold it's 32nd annual conference at the Baltimore Convention Center March 23-26 2011.

Cherry Hill, NJ, March 16, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) is pleased to host its 32nd Annual Conference on Pediatric Health Care: “Charting the Course for Advocacy and Innovation” on March 23-26 2011 at the Baltimore Convention Center in MD. Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., world renowned pediatric neurosurgeon and Presidential Medal of Freedom Recipient will open the conference with a talk that will inspire others to lead successful lives.

“We welcome all pediatric healthcare providers and supporters to join us at this conference where we will Chart the Course for Advocacy and Innovation to improve the health and well-being of all children and families,” said NAPNAP President Jean Martin, PhD, CPNP.

The opening ceremony will also include acknowledgement of a Baltimore teenager who was selected as NAPNAP’s Student Art Contest Winner for submitting the winning graphic design for the NAPNAP conference. The student attends Digital Harbor High School in the Baltimore area.

Capitol Hill Day is scheduled for Tuesday, March 22nd where attendees will have an opportunity to speak with members of Congress, key committee staff and agency officials who drive health policy in Washington DC.

Intensive workshops will begin on Tuesday, March 22nd. These sessions, which feature extensive or hands-on learning content, include such topics as Pharmacology, Breastfeeding, Asthma Principles and Practices, Splinting, Suturing, Managing ADHD and more.

Concurrent and plenary sessions will be offered beginning on Wednesday, March 23rd and will address topics such as Pediatric Obesity, Medications and Breastfeeding, Pediatric Immunization, Protecting Children in the Face of Disaster, and Health Care Issues and the Impact on our Nation’s Children.

The conference will close with a presentation from Dr. T. Berry Brazelton, medical pioneer, author, professor of pediatrics and founder of the Brazelton Touch-Points center at Children’s hospital Boston.
