QuikCalc Formulas Now on Equipment Engineering Services Website

QuikCalcs, back-of-the-envelope mechanical engineering formulas, are on the Equipment Engineering Services website at www.iee.com.

Wilmington, DE, February 21, 2007 --(PR.com)-- QuikCalcs, back-of-the-envelope mechanical engineering formulas, now are accessible on the Equipment Engineering Services website at www.iee.com.

QuikCalcs include 26 Heat Transfer, Fluids, Dynamics, and HVAC formulas. These "in the ballpark" formulas enable engineers to make quick estimates, see if an idea is feasible, or check to see if results from more complex analyses are sensible. Using these formulas, calculations can be done easily without resorting to computer or calculator. Each formula includes an explanatory note on why and when to use it.

QuikCalcs also include 43 question and solution examples. The challenging questions provide an opportunity to test knowledge by solving a problem before viewing a formula. Solutions describe exactly how a specific formula solves a problem.

The formulas and examples are from the 2002 handbook, QuikCalcs, back-of-the-envelope calculations for mechanical engineers, by Dyer Harris, PhD. Dyer is a licensed professional engineer; ASME course writer and trainer; former college professor; forensic engineer; and heat transfer, fluids, dynamics, and HVAC expert with over 30 years industrial experience. Dyer is also President of Equipment Engineering Services.
