The Medal Play Masters Was Held Sunday at Red Hawk Golf Club
Temecula, CA, March 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Medal Play Masters was held Sunday under warm, sunny skies at Red Hawk Golf Club in Temecula. “The conditions were perfect for scoring today,” said tour director Blane Freytag. “The tees were moved up most of the day and players took advantage.”
Roy Patterson took a steady day to post a net 70 and the victory in the Championship Division. Matt Seto, playing in his first event, posted even par net 72 for 2nd with Mitchell McCaughan 3rd with a net 74.
Alan Forbes and Jim Munyon had a great battle in the Gold Division. Forbes birdied the 18th hole to tie Munyon with net 68’s to force a card playoff. Forbes edged Munyon in the playoff to claim his first victory on tour. 3rd, 4th, and 5th place would also have to decided by card playoffs as Nicholas Wolf, Mark Kammerlohr and Thomas Vail all posted net 69’s. Wolf would claim 3rd in his first event, Kammerlohr took 4th and Vail finished 5th.
The Silver Division was also hotly contested as it also went to a card playoff. Steve Challenger and 2010 Tour Champion Stan Tankersley battled to net 70’s. Challenger was the victor on this day on the playoff to claim his first victory in the Silver Division. Chuck Thomas finished 3rd with a super net 71.
The tour returns to action at Empire Lakes in Rancho Cucamonga on March 27th.
