Sales Soar for Big Island Real Estate in February
Big Island real estate reports a 12% gain in sales and 8% increase in pricing in February, indicating a strengthening market for single family homes in Hawaii.
Danville, CA, March 18, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Big Island real estate sales surged in February 2011 with a 12% gain in units sold and an 8% increase in average sales price according to a recent report. Sales were strongest for single family homes, such as the ones offered at KaMilo at Mauna Lani Resort by Brookfield Homes Hawaii.
“We’re definitely seeing continual strengthening of the market as more buyers are taking advantage of low prices and low rates to buy second homes and vacation homes in Hawaii. A total of 111 single family homes were sold on the Big Island in February 2011 compared to 99 homes the previous year. The median price was $256,400, up from $237,000 the previous year. Condo sales also rose in Hawaii with a 33% increase of sales over last year. Many of the Big Island condo sales were located on the Kohala Coast, where KaMilo is located.
