ITWorx Participates in the First Saudi IEFPE to Serve Schools with Best-in-Class eLearning Platform
Cairo, Egypt, March 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- ITWorx, the global expert in e-learning products, announced today its participation in the International Exhibition and Forum for Public Education (IEFPE) from 19-22 March, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). ITWorx, a Microsoft Strategic Education Partner, will introduce the newest version of its learning management system ITWorx CLG (Connected Learning Gateway) to KSA’s K12 education.
Under the auspices of the Saudi Ministry of Education, the IEFPE is being held for the first time to create a space for discussion and decision-making in multiple areas critical to the success of K12 education in the Kingdom. With a focus on ICT importance in education, the event hosts leading companies that will showcase the latest in education technologies, practices, and expertise.
CLG is a dynamic platform that helps transform the traditional, “confined-to-classrooms” based education into a more engaging educational space that serves the needs of teachers, students, parents and school management. CLG makes e-learning accessible to all constituents in classrooms, at homes and through handheld devices such as mobiles and iPads/iPods.
“Helping develop more efficient and confident teachers, CLG provides effective tools for planning lessons, authoring content, and conducting live lectures, as well as managing student attendance, assignments, exams, grades and behaviours," says Medhat Karam, General Manager -- Education, ITWorx. "Intuitive and easy-to-use, teachers require a near-zero learning curve to master CLG teaching tools.”
To help create independent learners, personalised learning has proved to help retain student attention while making education more fun and self-paced. CLG incorporates effective tools and techniques that boost personalised learning such as interactive lessons, modern interface, individual learning plans, collaborative evaluation and assessment, multi-themed e-Portfolios that showcase student achievement online.
Moreover, through CLG, students use visual and audible tools to interact within their educational community in a social networking-like environment including online discussions, forums, blogs, messaging, status updates, wall-to-wall comments and multimedia attachments.
“Parental engagement is key to a child’s excellence in education. CLG ensures that parents can track their children’s performance simply by accessing online dashboards and contacting teachers and the school board online. Parents can also follow up through their mobile phones from anywhere at any time, which adds an element of practicality,” Karam adds.
Magdy Al Komy, Business Development Manager – Education, ITWorx, comments: "Because it incorporates Arabic, CLG stands out as an e-learning platform that clearly meets KSA language needs. From a cultural angle, the platform is also completely secured against profanity threats, external attacks, and the likes. Schools new to e-learning receive complete support and training from ITWorx. Our adoption program starts with needs assessment and ends with school visits to ensure that the return on investment for CLG is truly being realised.”
CLG is native to Microsoft SharePoint 2010, making it easy-to-use and customisable as per the needs of local authorities and individual schools. CLG integrates with different school information systems (SISs), Microsoft Live@edu, and the e-content of leading content providers worldwide. Moreover, cloud computing-ready, ITWorx provides schools with different models for hosting and using CLG.
“We respect the e-learning initiatives of the Saudi Ministry of Education. In this event we will connect with decision-makers and IT advisors in national and international schools to showcase the value added by CLG as an e-learning platform. We are confident that we will witness a fruitful event,” Al Komy concludes.
It is worth mentioning that CLG 2.0 was launched in Middle Eastern markets in 2010 through other regional events such as GITEX and BETT Middle East where it witnessed notable up-take from prestigious names such as Manarat Schools (part of Maarif for Education and Training) in KSA and the UAE Ministry of Education.
