Planet Technologies’ Rob Gillen Selected for Microsoft Windows Azure Client Advisory Board
Germantown, MD, March 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Planet Technologies, a Microsoft Gold Certified partner and leading IT consulting firm, announced today that Rob Gillen, Planet’s Solutions Architect and Microsoft Azure MVP, has been selected to serve on Microsoft’s Windows Azure Client Advisory Board (CAB). As a long-standing leader in Microsoft technologies, Gillen accepted the invitation to this select group of senior technology leaders who play a critical role in helping to guide the future direction of the Windows Azure Cloud Computing Platform.
As a newly active member, Gillen will be attending the CAB’s semi-annual meeting in Kirkland, WA March 21-23, 2011. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will kick off the meeting by sharing an update on his cloud leadership team and insights into Microsoft’s cloud strategy. The meeting will include two days of highly interactive sessions in which the Window’s Azure Platform product teams will share their planned investments in shaping the future of the platform with the advisory board.
The Windows Azure Platform CAB includes 40-45 Microsoft partners who represent enterprises, the public sector, and ISVs. The primary goal of the CAB is to bring Board members together with the Windows Azure Platform business and engineering leadership teams so the CAB may better understand the long term needs of the organizations involved and apply that knowledge to shaping the future direction of the platform in ways that assist those organizations to achieve their business goals. Added benefits of participation are the opportunity to network and share ideas with peers, as well as build a stronger relationship with Microsoft.
