April 24 to April 30th National Infertility Awareness Week: Free Public Fertility Awareness Seminar - 3 Basic IVF Cycles Being Given Away

1 in 8 couples experience fertility issues. As women approach the age 30 their ability to conceive starts to drop dramatically, unfortunately studies show women think that they can wait until they are in their forties. Fertility issues affect men too. Many couples find out it is too late once they finally seek treatment and their dream for having their own biological child is over. If couples seek treatment sooner they can use less invasive treatments and spend less money to conceive.

Jacksonville, FL, March 24, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Jacksonville Fertility Clinics Join with Resolve to Put Spotlight on Fertility During National Infertility Awareness Week - Jaxfertility.net

(3 IVF cycles will be given away)

Fifth annual city-wide fertility awareness program.

The Jacksonville fertility clinics are once again joining with Resolve: The National Infertility Association to celebrate the 22st Annual National Infertility Awareness Week® (NIAW), April 23, 2011 – April 30, 2011, along with thousands of infertile women and men, healthcare professionals, and other thought leaders to promote greater awareness about infertility. The focus of the event is to provide education on the causes of infertility, discuss treatments options, and raise awareness that fertility issues can affect both men and women.

Resolve, in its 37rd year of service, is the leading consumer voice in advocating for needed insurance coverage to enable greater access to effective and affordable treatments, increased infertility research for cures and improved therapies, expanded public education about infertility risks and options and incentives to foster adoption as a family building alternative.

During NIAW, Brown Fertility, Assisted Fertility of North Florida, and The Jacksonville Center for Reproductive Medicine, will host a free patient education symposium, The Jacksonville Fertility Awareness Seminar on Saturday April 30 2011 from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm at the Wyndham Hotel downtown Jacksonville, FL.

During the event, three IVF cycles will be given away. With the economy in its current state this maybe the only chance for some couples to be able to have a chance at an IVF cycle or talk to a fertility specialist. The fertility clinicians want to give back to the community, so each fertility clinic is giving away one complimentary, basic IVF treatment cycle; seminar attendees are eligible to win a complimentary IVF treatment cycle if they attend the entire seminar and are present at the time of the drawing.

The event is very well attended with about 400 attendees expected. This event has changed lives. Here’s what previous years winners had to say:

For more information about the seminar, go to jaxfertility.net. Attendees must register to reserve a seat, they must email their name, contact information, and fertility physician’s name if they have one, to jaxfertility@yahoo.com.

“Resolve is here during NIAW and throughout the year -- to help women and men struggling with infertility to learn, cope and take action,” said Barbara Collura, Executive Director, Resolve. “We are delighted that the Brown Fertility, Jacksonville Center for Reproductive Medicine, and Assisted Fertility of North Florida are joining together to recognize National Infertility Awareness Week and helping educate and support men and women in Florida about infertility.”

Infertility affects 7.3 million people in the U. S. This figure represents 12% of women of the reproductive age population, or 1 in 8 couples. Approximately one-third of infertility is attributed to the female partner, one-third attributed to the male partner and one-third is caused by a combination of problems in both partners or, is unexplained.

Often couples are not aware that their chances for having their own biological child are greatly reduced as they approach their early to mid 30’s. Child bearing is delayed due to career issues, financial issues, and countless other reasons. By the time they realize that they should have tried sooner it is often too late to do so without assistance. This event will raise awareness that both men and women need to seek fertility treatment sooner rather than later.

something simple – weight loss or gain or a little assistance from the sperm lab
