World renowned designer, Dena Burton will showcase a fresh new collection at Pepperdine’s Women of Color Fashion Show on March 26th. Dena’s one of a kind garments have commanded attention at the Mercedes Benz L.A. Fashion Week, Miami Fashion Week, San Francisco Fashion Week, and the Caribbean Celebrity Classic Golf Invitational.
Known for her bold designs, Dena delights in working with rich textures such as furs, suede, and leathers as well as linens, silks and other fine fabrics, although her expertise extends beyond these areas. A celebrated leader in and out of the fashion arena, it’s no surprise that Dena decided to grace the stages at Women of Color’s annual event. Women of Color, a Pepperdine University based organization, aims to empower, unite, and guide young women of all colors to discover their own identity. Set beneath the stars off the coast of Malibu at Pepperdine’s Alumni Park, the show will roll out its red carpet at 5pm. Along with several other designers, Dena will present her new collection from 6pm-7:30pm. There will be a venue to peruse more of the Dena Burton Collection’s exquisite designs exclusively throughout the evening from 5-8pm.
The Women of Color fashion show will raise money for the Autism Speaks foundation, the nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, and treatments for autism.
