Amnis to Support IOM Operational Excellence Conference
Amnis, the productivity and improvement specialists, will deliver a workshop on practical and productive strategic thinking in unconventional times at the IOM's annual conference in May 2011.
Egham, Surrey, United Kingdom, March 24, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Amnis, the productivity and improvement specialists, have announced that they will be supporting the Institute of Operations Management's (IOM) Operational Excellence Conference in May. Amnis will deliver a fast-moving, highly practical workshop on practical and productive strategic thinking in unconventional times.
The conference, marking the relaunch of the IOM's highly successful annual conference series, will focus on the need for organisations to operate in unconventional ways in order to successfully respond to and capitalise on their constantly and unpredictably changing operating environments.
With seminar and workshop streams, an exhibition area and case studies, the conference will run on 11th May 2011 at Studley Castle, in Warwickshire, equipping delegates to successfully manage operations in unpredictable environments.
Preferred supplier
Amnis' workshop, Practical and Productive Strategy (Thinking Strategically in Unconventional Times) will be delivered by the company's Managing Director, Mark Eaton, a Fellow of the IOM. Leonie Edwards, IOM Manager, commented, "The IOM has worked with Amnis for almost six years now, particularly in the area of workshops and other training programmes. They are, for example, our preferred supplier for our Lean Masterclass series."
The workshop will be a practical and interactive session introducing delegates to Transformation Mapping, a powerful and effective toolkit for linking organisational objectives to practical, on-the-ground improvement activities. Mark will also look at Stakeholder Analysis and A3 Planning, and some of the many ways in which organisations can end up following the wrong path, and investing in the wrong projects.
During the workshop, delegates will work together to prepare a Transformation Map for a (fictitious) business. They will then explore one of the projects on the Map in detail, scoping it and designing an implementation plan for it.
Highly engaging
"I am delighted that Mark is able to lead this workshop," Leonie observed. "He's been leading transformation programmes for more than 15 years, so his experience is second to none, and I can confirm from personal experience that his workshop style is highly engaging."
Mark added, "One of the failings of many training experiences is that they major far too strongly on the theory. Such training tends to be dull, to feel irrelevant and, as a result, to fail to make any real difference. At Amnis we're all about effecting real change, achieving real, measurable, tangible improvements. This workshop will be thoroughly practical – and very interactive."
