IJIS Institute Appoints Cisco Executive, Matthew DeZee, to Board of Directors
Ashburn, VA, March 24, 2011 --(PR.com)-- DeZee brings extensive government IT experience to the Board.
The IJIS Institute, a nonprofit organization that focuses on mission-critical information sharing for justice, public safety and homeland security, announces that Matthew R. DeZee, PhD, has been appointed to the IJIS Institute’s Board of Directors.
Dr. DeZee is the Senior Director for the Strategic Relations Operation for the U.S. Public Sector Theater at Cisco Systems, Inc. Prior to that, Dr. DeZee directed the strategy, plans and operations for the U.S. Public Sector at Cisco, and he initially joined Cisco to help lead the Global Public Sector, Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG), where he was responsible for overseeing IBSG Public Sector engagements in North America.

Immediately prior to joining Cisco, Dr. DeZee served as Vice President in the Digital Government Group at American Management Systems, and was responsible for providing thought leadership and strategy consulting to senior-level government officials transitioning to an integrated digital enterprise.
Dr. DeZee previously served as the first Chief Information Officer with the State of South Carolina, and was responsible for implementing a statewide IT enterprise architecture framework that fused IT strategic direction with the business strategies of State government. In 2002, he was selected by the Special Assistant to the President for Cyber Security to design the White House National Strategy for Securing Cyber Space. Prior to that, Dr. DeZee served with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), where he was responsible for global computing and communications infrastructure.
Other positions held by Dr. DeZee include serving as President and CEO of the Scientific and Technical Analysis Corporation, President of the Tibbits Group, Intelligence Analyst with the CIA and Instructor at Florida State University, Illinois State University and the University of Maryland. He was also a Captain with the U.S. Army, assigned to the elite Army Rangers. Dr. DeZee holds a Ph.D in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Criminology from Florida State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from Utica College of Syracuse University.
