SUNY College at Old Westbury School of Business Presents Business Executive Partnership Program

SUNY College at Old Westbury School of Business and Teachers Federal Credit Union, Long Island’s largest credit union, will present a special program entitled Entrepreneurship: Growth Strategies for New and Expanding Businesses, Thursday, April 7, 2011, at the Duane L. Jones Recital Hall in the College’s Campus Center.

will support business growth and entrepreneurship.

SUNY College at Old Westbury School of Business and Teachers Federal Credit Union, Long Island’s largest credit union, will present a special program entitled Entrepreneurship: Growth Strategies for New and Expanding Businesses, Thursday, April 7, 2011, at the Duane L. Jones Recital Hall in the College’s Campus Center. The program will be of interest to students, faculty, alumni and local small businesspeople, according to Robert G. Allen, President and CEO of TFCU and volunteer chair of the event. Registration and a networking reception will take place from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. Four presentations and a Q and A panel discussion, moderated by Robert G. Allen, will follow from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m.

“The latest statistics from the Small Business Administration show that only 44 percent of new businesses survive at least four years,” said N.J. Delener, dean of Old Westbury’s School of Business. “Through this program, business owners will get advice from those who know success best -- entrepreneurs who are excelling and the media who cover them.”

The panelists and topics highlighted include: David Jacobson, President of GrooveCar, Inc. – Finding a Niche and Growing a Business; Walter E. Oden II, Branch Manager, Long Island, U.S. Small Business Administration – SBA Programs & Popular Types of Businesses; Jamie Herzlich, Small Business Columnist, Newsday – Ways Businesses Can Avoid Stagnation; and Robert Basso, Executive Producer and Host of “Basso on Business” – Creating a Good Work Environment to Grow Your Business.
