Stamford Based Commercial Landscaping Company Celebrates 35th Anniversary
Eastern Land Management Marks 35 Years as Industry Leader, Community Supporter and Eco-Champion
Stamford, CT, March 27, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Founded in 1976 by Bruce T. Moore, Sr., Eastern Land Management (ELM) of Stamford celebrates its 35th year in business this month. Specializing in commercial landscaping, irrigation and snow and ice management, the firm is family owned and operated by Bruce, Sr., President, and his son, Bruce T. Moore, Jr., who is Director of Landscape Management.
Named in 2010 by Inc. Magazine as one of the 5000 fastest-growing companies in the United States, ELM has distinguished itself as an industry leader in this market. With 65 professional full-time and seasonal employees and a large fleet of equipment, the company provides commercial landscaping, irrigation services, snow removal and liquid ice-melt applications.
As a local business, ELM strives to be an exemplary community supporter and good corporate citizen, helping to fund charitable causes and align with community initiatives. The company is active with Stamford’s Mill River Collaborative, advising and assisting with maintenance of Stamford’s Mill River Park and Greenway, and the company supports the work of Domus House, a Stamford-based home for boys aged 14 to 21 that have been abused, neglected and abandoned. ELM “adopted” the land on which Stamford’s Old Town Hall sits, and 15 years later, they continue to maintain the property. The company also installed a garden at Old Town Hall to compliment recent building renovations. Bruce Sr. is the President of the Umbrella Club of Fairfield County, an organization that raises money for underprivileged local families, and a past president of the Stamford Tree Foundation.
While demonstrating its commitment on a community level, ELM has also led the way as a friend of the environment, employing techniques and strategies in its practices that are eco-conscious and green responsible. Its new building at 142 Hamilton Avenue features energy-efficient insulated windows with extra R values. The company’s mowers are retrofitted with mulching blades that grind grass into tiny particles and deposit them back onto lawns for organic feeding. In its irrigation work, ELM installs and maintains irrigation systems, and conducts system audits to identify water waste and opportunities for annualized savings.
“I am proud of the business we have built, and especially our charitable efforts. It’s my company’s commitment to the community in which we live and work,” said Moore, Sr. “It’s a way for us to ‘give back’ to the city where we have enjoyed consistent growth for the past 35 years.”
