Cincinnati, OH, March 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Matthew 25: Ministries Dispatches Truckloads of Aid to Relieve Post-Tsunami Suffering.
Matthew 25: Ministries, an international humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization, located at 11060 Kenwood Road in Cincinnati, OH, will begin shipping aid to disaster-ravaged Japan on Monday, March 28.
The devastation from the earthquake, the resulting tsunami and the nuclear crisis have driven hundreds of thousands into refugee camps throughout the country. Camps and relocation centers are struggling with lack of food, clean water and other basic necessities. The estimated death toll from Japan's earthquake and tsunami currently exceeds 18,000.
50,000 meals from Matthew 25: Ministries’ Food Processing Center will go by air to Japan on Monday March 28, with arrival in Tokyo before the end of the week. An additional truckload of aid will leave their Blue Ash facility on Monday, which includes 200,000 servings of food from Matthew 25’s Food Processing Center, as well as water and blankets.
Matthew 25: Ministries’ Vice-president and Disaster Relief Coordinator Tim Mettey commented, “This is a long term effort for us. People often think that if it’s out of the news, things are back to normal. But our experience tells us that disasters of this magnitude, however industrialized or wealthy the country is, will need our help for some time to come.”
Matthew 25: Ministries is accepting the following items for disaster relief for Japan:
1. Cash Donations
2. Canned and non-perishable food
