Your Time Publishing and Author Paulette Jones Launch Tween Novel, Girls’ Day Out: The Adventure
Author Paulette Jones launches first tween novel about three ten year old girls and the adventure they create by using their imaginations.
New Orleans, LA, March 29, 2011 --(PR.com)-- April 1, 2011 is the official launch date for Girls’ Day Out, written by author Paulette Jones, to commemorate the relationship she’s had with all of her nieces. She’s used this story to encapsulate the relationship she’s shared with her nieces and another young woman that she has mentored through the years. Paulette has mentored students in math, reading and has taught karate to young people.
Paulette says, "I was originally motivated to write this novel because of my nieces. After returning home, after Hurricane Katrina, I found myself surrounded by grand nieces and also with time on my hand. I was inspired by their curiosity and desire to learn. When they realized I was an author, they asked me if I could write a book for them. I decided to use our girls’ day out as the back drop. They have helped me see the beauty in things I call the ordinary and have taken for granted."
The girls had done their very best all school year and were being rewarded with the title of best fourth grade students. Summer was about to begin and as usual they would be split up to go spend time at their grandmothers’ homes. The aunties decide to give the girls something special, a girls’ day out.
The girls want to know, they need to know, what and where this girls’ day out will take them. The suspense is overwhelming so they use all of the resources that they have to find out where they will be going. They ask their parents, they go to the library and look in books, magazines and on maps; they use the computer and look for places near and far. They resort to asking the aunties, even though they know the aunties will not tell them a thing. The adventure as they call it, turns out to be bigger, better and more usual than they could have even imagined. The lesson they learn this week is priceless.
Paulette first children’s novel will not be her last, she likes these characters so much she is already starting the next adventure. For speaking request call Paula Tromp, 469 337-3385. Books are available at Amazon.com, www.yourtimepublishing.com, and other online bookstores.
