Award-Winning Civil War Author to Launch Book with Tour in Charleston, S.C.
Award-winning Civil War novelist Jessica James will launch her new novel, Noble Cause, in Charleston, S.C., as part of sesquicentennial events in April.
Gettysburg, PA, March 30, 2011 --(PR.com)-- An author who grew up with the battlefields of Gettysburg as her stomping grounds has chosen April—the month that witnessed the beginning and the end of the American Civil War—as the release date for her new book, Noble Cause: A Novel of Love and War.
Jessica James will launch her novel with a book signing tour in Charleston, S.C., the place where the war began with the firing on Fort Sumter exactly 150 years earlier.
“There is no place more romantic or more historic than Charleston, and I can’t wait to release this book as part of the commemoration events,” James said.
The fine line between friends and enemies is revealed in this epic love story that captures the emotions and fears of the country as war sweeps the land. Noble Cause exposes the private side of the men and women who took part in the desperate conflict as they struggle with fulfilling their duty to God and country while remaining true to their own hearts and minds.
The novel has been widely praised by historians for its balanced portrayal of the War Between the States, and by romance readers for its emotional description of the love that develops between the two main characters.
James will appear at Boone Hall Farms, 2521 Highway 17 N, Mt. Pleasant, S.C., on April 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and at Beaufort Bookstore, 2129 Boundary St., Beaufort, S.C., on April 9, from 1-3 p.m., among other stops in the historic Charleston area.
Noble Cause will be available at bookstores everywhere as well as Internet retailers like Amazon and Barnes and Noble. For a listing where James will be signing books, visit www.jessicajamesboks.com.
James is an award-winning historical fiction author who was featured in the book 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading, published in 2010.
