Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce Presents the Grand Wine & Food Affair 2011
Five day series of culinary events includes internationally acclaimed wineries and award-winning chefs.
Houston, TX, March 30, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Sugar Land, Texas is the location of the 8th Annual Grand Wine & Food Affair, an event that brings together internationally acclaimed wineries, award-winning chefs and Texas' regional superstars for five days of culinary events. From Wednesday, April 27 - Sunday, May 1, 2011, enjoy dining, wine tastings, a bartending contest and more.
Wednesday, April 27
Dining in the Heart of Sugar Land
6:30 – 10:00 PM
Dine alfresco in the heart of Sugar Land overlooking the horseshoe-shaped Brooks Lake. Cigars and post dinner cocktails will complete this experience.
Thursday, April 28
On the Rocks Bartenders Contest
6:30 - 9:00 PM
Rock star bartenders will compete for the top prize. Guests enjoy samplings of the winning recipes, cocktail fare, and more. The winning recipe will be named the Official Cocktail of the Grand Food and Wine Affair.
Friday, April 29
Cabernets of Napa Valley with Guy Stout, MS
5:15 – 6:35 PM
Guy Stout, Master Sommelier, presents a tasting of some of the greatest Cabernets of Napa Valley as a part of the Fred Parks Wine Series. The tasting will include wines from the different Mountain vineyards of Howell Mountain, Mt. Veeder, Spring Mountain, Atlas Peak, as well as the appellations of Oakville, Rutherford and Calistoga.

7:00 – 9:30 PM
This event features some of the most sought out wines in the world paired with food from the country’s top chefs. The Grand Auction benefits The Grand Wine & Food Affair Scholarship Endowment for students attending the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston.
Saturday, April 30
Sienna Sip & Stroll
1:00 – 4:00 PM
This event is filled with cooking demonstrations by award-winning chefs, artisans, and food. Live island sounds by the Tropical Steel Tones Band and Salsa Cubana Orchestra add to this tropical party. Enjoy Zacapa rum and fine cigars at the Havana-style bar.
Sunday, May 1
Bistro Brunch
11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
An around the world bistro brunch that will feature specialty dishes, international ales and wines from major wine regions of the world such as Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Australia, South Africa, California, and many more. The eclectic mix of Flamenco, Middle Eastern, Spanish, and Western sounds of Moodafaruka will complete this experience.
