Canidae Racing Among Leaders at Mint 400 Before Rollover
The Canidae Racing Team, in their newly redesigned 2011 Trophy Truck, was near the front of the pack for last weekend's Mint 400 offroad race near Las Vegas. Unofficial reports showed the Canidae team in 5th place at the end of lap one of this grueling four lap race. However, the team suffered a setback during lap two when driver Scott Whipple and Co-Driver Johnny Stroschein pushed the truck a little too hard and got bit on the famous qualifying jump and rolled the truck several times.
San Luis Obispo, CA, March 30, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Although attempts were made to repair the truck, getting it back on the course unfortunately wasn’t possible. The only injuries reported were to their pride.
The Mint 400, one of the most famous off-road races in history, covers a 100 mile loop course North of Las Vegas, Nevada. Racers take on the course four times for a total distance of about 400 miles. Many of the elite Trophy Truck class entrants were unable to finish Saturday's difficult race.
Prior to the race on Thursday, the entire racing crew attended the Mint 400 FanFest party on Freemont Street in Las Vegas. The team's title sponsor, Canidae Natural Pet Food Co., had their display next to the team's vehicles.
