Bridgestone Babblers Toastmasters Club Wins Big at Area 53 Speech Contest

Nashville, TN, March 31, 2011 --(PR.com)-- In addition to being known for always having a great time, the Bridgestone Babblers Toastmasters Club is also known for producing strong contestants for speech contests. This year is no exception. At the Area 53 Contest on March 15th, Stephen Cornwell won the International Speech Contest and Justin Duckwiler won the Table Topics Contest. Stephen and Justin will now move on to compete at the Division E Contest on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Caterpillar on West End. The reception begins at 5:30 p.m. and the contest starts promptly at 6:00 p.m.

Speech contests allow members to practice their communication skills under demanding conditions, view the efforts of skilled members of other clubs, and provide entertainment during business meetings or dinner functions. The winner of each club contest proceeds to the next level of competition - an area contest; the winner of the area contest goes on to the division contest; the winner of the division contest goes on to the district contest. Most contests stop at the district level. The one exception is the International Speech Contest, which continues to the semi-finals and then international levels.

The Bridgestone Babblers, a District 63 Five-Star Club, is an open Toastmasters club and welcomes all visitors. The club meets every Thursday at noon at the Bridgestone Americas Corporate Headquarters which is located at 535 Marriott Drive, in Nashville, TN.
