Taste of Spring Branch Returns for the Second Year
Taste of Spring Branch Tickets Are on Sale Now - Over 20 Restaurants Will be Featured
Houston, TX, March 31, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Over 20 Spring Branch area restaurants and businesses will be featured in 2011’s Taste of Spring Branch on Sunday, April 10th from 4 to 7p.m. at Memorial Assistance Ministries at 1625 Blalock. This is the second year that MAM presents this event, and it has grown tremendously from the first year.
To date, 25 restaurants have agreed to participate and provide samples for guests, including returning restaurants Blue Planet Café, Olde Towne Kolaches and Polonia. New to Taste of Spring Branch this year are: La Fuente Winery, Fratelli’s, Jolly Cup, El Ultimo Taco Truck, and Falafel, among many others. Beer will be provided by Houston-based Saint Arnold’s Brewing.
In addition to all the delicious restaurant samples, there will be a “wine pull” fundraiser in which participants have a chance to receive amazing bottles of wine, a cake silent-auction with cakes made by NCL, Boy Scout and Girl Scouts, and live music provided by Flat Cat, playing favorites from the ‘50s through the ‘80s.
Tickets can be purchased from MAM online via the MAM website at www.helpherehelpnow.org or at the MAM Resale Store at 1625 Blalock. Advanced tickets cost $20 each, and $25 the day of the event. Children 12 and under are $10.
All ticket proceeds will benefit MAM Emergency Assistance and Self-sufficiency Programs which serve the Spring Branch area and near northwest Houston in a variety of ways, including rent assistance to prevent homelessness, utility assistance to avoid cut off or restore service and medical and prescription assistance. MAM also works closely with Spring Branch ISD to provide uniforms and eyeglasses for school children. MAM’s Employment Services programs provide computer classes, job coaching with mock interviews, tools for job retention and partnerships with area businesses. MAM also offers GED classes and day and evening English as a Second Language classes. MAM is a section 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.
