Women on the Verge Invites You to Laugh Out Loud in April 2011

Tucson, AZ, April 01, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Online women’s community Women on the Verge (WOTV) announces its April hot topic: Laughing Out Loud. In keeping with the Western tradition of April Fools Day, WOTV launches this month-long topic on April 1, inviting members to share funny stories on the WOTV site. Stories can be fiction, non-fiction or even really bad poetry; side-splitting laughter is encouraged.

According to Wikipedia, the earliest recorded instance of foolishness associated with April 1 is found in Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, which was published in 1392. Encyclopedia Britannica posits April Fools Day, also called All Fools Day, may have begun in reference to the vernal equinox (March 21), a time of year when people are easily fooled by changes in weather.

WOTV founder Ana Lewis invites members to share their Laughing Out Loud stories on the WOTV blog. Lewis suggests that “by connecting on the WOTV website and radio show, women can support each other in a way that leads to better health in mind, body and spirit”.

A recent addition to the blogs, videos, personal connections, and discussions on the Women on the Verge site is their bookstore, featuring books written by WOTV members.

Women on the Verge is a fresh, growing, free, global, online community of women (and a few men) encouraging and supporting each other to speak and let their voices be heard.
