Cleveland, OH, April 01, 2011 --(PR.com)-- IQS, a leader of enterprise compliance and quality management software announced today that customer Semiconductor Tooling Services Inc. (STS) was honored as a winner of the Progressive Manufacturing 100 Awards, presented by Managing Automation, a Thomas Publishing Company LLC media brand. In the category of Data and Integration Mastery – Enterprise Integration, the award recognized STS’ use of IQS Enterprise Quality Management System and Epicor’s E9 ERP System. STS has integrated IQS’ Data Collection/Statistical Process Control (SPC) Analysis and Nonconformance module capabilities system with their Epicor ERP system, to easily accept manufacturing data, create inspection records and identify out-of-control processes and non-conforming data items. The integration ties these items directly back to ERP data providing STS with a single point of data entry and retrieval which fulfills the need for real-time quality processing and eliminates the use of multiple spreadsheets and systems. This enables STS to respond quickly to customer inquiries regarding products and to support their own initiative to eliminate quality-based problems.
“Before we implemented the system, our customers’ quality groups were constantly scrutinizing the type of quality systems we had. The meetings were long and tough,” says STS Owner and President, John Lilleland. “Now the perceived risk factors have gone away. Customers have relaxed significantly due to these improvements.”
The Progressive Manufacturing 100 Awards Program recognizes 100 projects that have leveraged technology to create business value in at least one of the eight core disciplines. The award disciplines include: Business Model Mastery, Customer Mastery, Supply Network Mastery, Data & Integration Mastery, Innovation Mastery, Training & Education Mastery, Leadership and Operational Excellence.
An independent judging panel chaired by David R. Brousell, Editor-in-Chief, and Jeff Moad, Executive Editor of Managing Automation, reviewed project nominations. Judges evaluated and scored nominated projects based on the following criteria: scope of mastery, business impact and use of technology. Progressive Manufacturing 100 winners were the companies receiving the highest total scores in their respective categories. The winners will receive their awards at the Awards Gala to be held at the Manufacturing Leadership Summit 2011, May 9-11 at the Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida.
