Sarah June, Acclaimed Detroit Singer/Songwriter Signs with Expat Records

Detroit, MI, April 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- After the warm reception and critical acclaim of her last album, "In Black Robes," Sarah June has signed with new indie label Expat-Records, who will release her new album, tentatively titled “Numbered Streets.” Sarah June says listeners can look forward to a Motown-inspired garage rock revival, and that die-hard fans of “In Black Robes,” will not be disappointed. Expat-Records has scheduled the release for spring 2011.

Detroit singer/songwriter Sarah June released her first album in 2008 and soon gained recognition for her chilling vocals, her bluesy-rock guitar style, and her gritty urban sound. She crafted her unique style growing up in Detroit and many of her lyrics address the real struggles of living in poverty in inner city America. The passion and heartache in her songs is palpable, and her haunting melodies and ethereal vocals are not easily forgotten.

Indie singer Sarah June is also a sought-after alternative pinup model, and is very much a part of the growing Tattoo Culture. She has been featured in publications such as Beat Cave and Gothic Beauty Magazine as both a powerful female vocalist and a tattooed work of art. Sarah June joins a roster of musicians from various genres on the Expat Records label. Expat-Records CEO Jeff Libby voiced excitement about the new partnership with June stating that he sees a “talented artist producing unique and expressive work that we want to bring to the next level.”
