Dick Hannah Dealerships Plants 50,000 Trees
Vancouver, WA, April 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Since March 2007, Dick Hannah Dealerships has partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant a tree with every new and pre-owned car sold. In February 2011 they reached a milestone of 50,000 trees donated and are continuing to donate. “I’m absolutely thrilled to be the 50,000 customer at Dick Hannah Dealerships since your tree-planting initiative was started. Having a tree planted as part of buying my new car here is such a nice added gift to not only me but to our community as a whole. I truly believe by planting more trees now it is both good for all of us now and future generations as well. Recently, I had the opportunity to participate in the Parks Foundation (www.parksfoundation.us) fundraiser for local area parks. It’s really great when organizations like Dick Hannah Dealerships and the Parks Foundation of Clark County give back to our community!” said Todd Mattson.
The Arbor Day Foundation (www.arborday.org) is involved with many programs one of which is the replanting of our nation’s forests. Record wildfire seasons in recent years have destroyed millions of trees in forests around the country and the Forest Service has identified a backlog of more than one million acres of America’s national forests that need to be replanted. Through the generous donations of members and partners, the Arbor Day Foundation has helped the Forest Service plant more than 20 million forestland trees since 1990. “By planting trees, Dick Hannah Dealerships serves as a model for other automobile dealerships and service providers,” said Kevin Sander, Director of Corporate Partnerships with the Arbor Day Foundation. “The trees being planted by Dick Hannah’s donations have added much-needed trees to forests that are in need of replanting. These trees are helping to clean the air, provide habitat for wildlife and adding beauty to our forests that will last for generations.”
Family owned since 1949, Dick Hannah Dealerships is dedicated to providing excellent customer service, maintaining a positive and productive work environment, and conducting business in a way that promotes the highest principles of integrity and ethical behavior. Dick Hannah Dealerships features franchise auto dealers selling both new cars and used cars through their Acura, Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Ram, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Subaru, Toyota-Scion and Volkswagen Dealerships. As the largest privately owned auto dealer company in the state of Washington, Dick Hannah Dealerships is also setting the standard for environmental best practices for automobile dealerships. Teaming up with the National Arbor Day Foundation, Dick Hannah Dealerships plants a tree with every car they sell. Now, over 50,000 trees have been planted. The Dick Hannah Dealerships Collision Center recently converted to the all-new environmentally sound PPG’s Envirobase High Performance waterborne painting system. “In our area of the country, thinking green is a way of life,” says Rick Stoker, director of Dick Hannah Collision Center (www.dickhannahcollisioncenter.com ). “For us, being responsible stewards of environment is simply the right thing to do.” To learn more visit www.dickhannah.com.
