Bayer MaterialScience LLC at GovSec 2011: New Public Sector Business Helps Government Entities Meet Challenges Through Materials Innovation

Washington, DC, April 04, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Bayer MaterialScience LLC is launching its Public Sector Business to provide integrated products and services that will help government entities meet challenges through materials innovation.

The Public Sector Business aligns Bayer MaterialScience LLC’s products and technologies with the market’s need for advancements in the areas of construction and infrastructure, health, security, sustainability and transportation.

“This new venture builds on the success of Bayer’s Government Services Group, which has completed federally funded research and development projects totaling $2 million, and has commitments for another $3 million,” said Roger Rumer, marketing leader, Public Sector Business, Bayer MaterialScience LLC. “The Public Sector Business will continue to provide research and development services to fulfill government grants, but will also work directly to provide the benefits of our innovative materials to the needs of government entities.”

Bayer MaterialScience LLC showcased its Public Sector Business during the Government Security Conference and Expo, held March 29-31 in Washington, D.C., (Booth #1029).

The Public Sector Business is scheduled to launch its first product — a system that can be used to protect buildings and employees from explosions — in the second quarter of 2011.

“This product will set a new standard of protection for building owners that want their buildings to be safe, secure and aesthetically pleasing while also offering a cost-effective alternative to relocation or new construction,” Rumer said.
