Ibstock Brick DZine Goes Into Detail
The latest issue of DZine magazine from Ibstock Brick showcases the most innovative and inspirational applications of brick detailing and features eight different projects from across the UK.
Ibstock, United Kingdom, April 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The most innovative and inspirational applications of brick detailing are brought to life in the latest issue of DZine, the quarterly magazine from Ibstock Brick (www.ibstock.com).
The final chapter in a three part special, the ‘Details’ issue of DZine takes an in-depth look into eight different projects from across the UK, each one taking a different approach to design and highlighting just how easy it is to create even more visually distinctive and memorable buildings using brick detailing. Other themes covered in the trilogy include colour and texture in brick design.
One of the projects featured in the ‘Details’ issue includes the BDA Award Winning Christ’s College School in Guildford which successfully uses semi-glazed brickwork with intricate detailing to emphasise its status as a civic building.
The regular ‘Back to Basics’ feature examines the importance of durability of masonry and why choosing the right brick for the job, is even more important than ever before.
The magazine also includes a review of the prestigious 2010 BDA Brick Awards which saw Ibstock take home an impressive six awards, twice as many as any other brick maker, including the coveted ‘Supreme Award’ for the Olympic Substation.
Andrew Halstead-Smith, marketing manager at Ibstock, commented: “Now more than ever, architects and specifiers are turning to brick to help them create even more visually distinctive and memorable buildings. The latest issue of DZine, which includes everything you could ever need to know about detailing, really does demonstrate that there is no limit to what can be achieved with brick.”
