BroadRamp Game-Changing Solution, Rapid File Transfer, Gears to Tap Into $7B Manage File Transfer Market
Rapid File Transfer is a new application from BroadRamp that will accelerate the delivery of large multimedia files, while eliminating transfer bottlenecks currently associated with FTP technologies.
San Antonio, TX, April 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- BroadRamp, Inc., a San Antonio-based high-definition (HD) streaming video and Internet technology company, announced today that it has completed the first development phase of its latest content delivery technology, Rapid File Transfer (RFT). BroadRamp’s RFT looks to be a major player in the growing managed file transfer market which is now estimated to be in excess of $7B annually.
RFT will allow clients to send large digital files at speeds of up to 1Gigabyte per minute from point-to-point via the Internet. Currently, the only online method for delivering large files is by the de facto standard, File Transfer Protocol (FTP). As a result, high-quality content continues to reach only those with dedicated high-speed lines and costly hardware infrastructures. However, RFT is now an alternative solution to FTP with several capabilities that improve transfer speeds using typical broadband access accounts.
BroadRamp CEO, Sean Darwish stated, “This software-based solution was designed to expedite the delivery of raw content from clients to perform our services. Current FTP technology still only allows for a few hundred Kilobytes per second to be transferred. RFT on the other hand, can transfer files up to 50 times faster.”
BroadRamp’s RFT will redefine the way multimedia companies will operate in the future. For instance, imagine being able to access and view a Blu-ray movie online in a matter of minutes, which is not available today due to various technical limitations. Darwish added, “When you combine the RFT capabilities with BroadRamp’s media solutions, it becomes a unique and cost-efficient model for the digital media world.”
RFT aims to attract multiple verticals that include news agencies, videographers, video editors, government agencies, advertising agencies, and more. RFT will play a major role in improving the industry’s ability to deliver large content and high-end HD video files faster and easier than the current FTP based applications.
This is just 1 of the 3 phases in the development plan for RFT. While the completed phase 1 provides secure fast transfer of files utilizing BroadRamp’s network, phase 2 and 3 will create additional enhancements that will be even more advantageous to content providers and aggregators across the globe.
