Protokraft Introduces Titan M28876 Ethernet Optical Media Converters
Protokraft’ s Titan Series M28876 Ethernet Optical Media Converters Improve Optical Network Performance and Reliability While Reducing Space and Weight Requirements.
Kingsport, TN, April 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Protokraft today announced the availability of its Titan Series Fast or Gigabit Ethernet media converters with M28876 fiber optic connector interfaces to improve optical network performance and reliability in harsh environment applications. Protokraft Titan series fiber optic Ethernet media converters consist of optoelectronic transmitter and receiver functions along with the 10/100Base-TX to FX or 1000Base-T to LX/SX Ethernet optical media conversion circuitry integrated into an environmentally sealed, NAVSEA approved *Glenair® composite enclosure with an M28876 optical connector interface.
Protokraft introduced the Titan Series of Jam Nut Ethernet Optical Media Converters with M28876 optical interfaces for naval, petrochemical, mining, industrial or utility applications where significant levels of shock, vibration and extreme temperature ranges are experienced. The Titan series Ethernet optical media converters operate from 110/220VAC - 50/60Hz power supplies. These components are designed for use in harsh environments where small size, weight reduction and resistance to harsh environments are valued.
Protokraft’s new Titan Series of Ethernet Optical Media Converters support both Fast or Gigabit Ethernet and multimode or single mode fiber optic links. All versions are fully approved with the applicable IEEE, NAVSEA, ANSI or Mil requirements.
Features
Compliant with IEEE-802.3:2005 Fast or Gigabit Ethernet
Optical fiber link distances up to 10.0 Kilometers
Operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C
Shock, vibration and ESD resistant per Mil-Std-810
Composite enclosure and aluminum connectors are strong, durable and corrosion resistant
M28876 optical fiber connector interface
Mounts in existing NAVSEA junction box hole patterns
The Titan media converter's optical transmitters are high performance 1310nm FP Lasers or 850nm VCSEL's. The optical receivers consist of GaAs or InGaAs PIN and preamplifier assemblies and limiting post-amplifiers. The optical interface to the Titan series Ethernet optical media converters is an M28876 connector enabling interconnection to standard NAVSEA M28876 optical fiber cable assemblies. The electrical interface to the Titan series optical media converters is a D38999 connector enabling local interconnection to Ethernet switches, routers or Network Interface Cards (NIC). The NAVSEA approved Glenair composite enclosure is listed under NSN# 5975-01-556-7948.
Designed to operate in harsh environments, these media converters feature excellent thermal characteristics, high tolerance to vibration and shock and corrosion resistant aluminum housings for exceptional EMI/RFI performance. Standard case operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C, with a standard storage temperature range of -55°C to +100°C. The Titan Series Ethernet optical media converters operate at fiber optic cable link distances up to 10.0 Kilometers. All operate from 110/220VAC -50/60Hz power supplies.
