Sticky Little Hands Usher in Passover as Children Prepare with Matzah Bakery

Jacksonville, FL, April 08, 2011 --(PR.com)-- With the approach of Passover, Jacksonville’s Jewish community is in full pre-holiday-madness mode. So much has to be done – house cleaning, Seder preparation, shopping and more shopping. This year children will play a special role in ushering in the Passover Holiday with the Model Matzah Bakery.

Sponsored by CHS – Chabad’s Hebrew School, this unique event brings children together for a hands-on, exciting educational journey exploring the history and significance of Passover and Matzah. In fact, each participant will begin with stalks of wheat which are winnowed and then ground, drawing special well-water and finally, donning the full Matzah Baker Master Regalia – hat, apron, floury face and all, will bake a spectacular Matzah.

“The Matzah Bakery provides children with a very fun experience but also helps develop a profound appreciation for the Holiday. Today, more than ever perhaps, parents appreciate opportunities like this to share their Jewish heritage and tradition – our faith, with the next generation,” said Chabad of Southside’s Rabbi Shmuli Novack. “Essentially that is what CHS (Chabad Hebrew School) is all about, a fun and exciting, and at the same time meaningful Jewish education.

The Model Matzah Bakery will take place on Sunday April 10th 10-12 in the morning, $3 per child. Reserve online at www.southsidechabad.com.
