Bar President Elect John Howe Joins the Law Offices of Lesser, Lesser, Landy & Smith, PLLC
West Palm Beach, FL, April 09, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Lesser, Lesser, Landy & Smith, PLLC (LLL&S) announces that John M. Howe, founding attorney of the Law Offices of J.M. Howe and President Elect of Palm Beach County Bar Association, has joined the Firm on an “Of Counsel” basis, and he will be focusing in the practice areas of personal injury, commercial litigation and criminal defense. The announcement was made by LLL&S Managing Partner Gary S. Lesser.
Howe is a trial attorney with more than twelve years of experience representing victims and families devastated by serious and fatal injuries, individuals charged with crimes and individuals, and companies involved in business disputes. As a former County Court Division Chief and Felony Level Trial Attorney with the Public Defender's Office for the 15th Judicial Circuit, he has represented a large number of clients charged with serious criminal offenses. He currently represents citizens and organizations in civil and criminal matters in both state and federal courts.
A native of West Palm Beach, Florida, John M. Howe earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida-Levin College of Law while concurrently earning a Masters in Business Administration degree also at the University. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Loyola University.

Active in the Palm Beach County Bar Association, Howe will be sworn in as President on June 4, 2011 at the association’s Installation Dinner, following such leadership roles he has held in the Association as founder and Co-Chair of the organization’s Diversity Task Force and Chair of its Docent Training Program for Lawyers and Judges at the 1916 Historical Courthouse & Museum.
In addition, Howe is a Past President of the Palm Beach Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Society of the Palm Beaches, Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Urban League of Palm Beach County, and the Historical Society of the Palm Beaches. Howe also served on the Palm Beach County Bar Association Professionalism Council.
A member of the Florida Bar Association for more than 12 years, Howe was appointed to serve on its Member Outreach Committee. In February 2011, he was recognized by the U. S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida as a Legal Trailblazer for his achievements, including his being the first African-American to be elected to the office of President-Elect of the Palm Beach County Bar Association. Howe has also been recognized by ICABA as one of South Florida's Most Accomplished Blacks in Law. He is also a member of the National Bar Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Hispanic Bar Association of the Palm Beaches, Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter of the National Bar Association, F.
