Stockholm, Sweden, April 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- A Taste of Stockholm takes place every year in the King’s Garden and attracts thousands of visitors. Over 25 of the best restaurants in the city have food stalls in the park and serve up some of the finest cuisine to be found anywhere, with international as well as traditional Swedish dishes on offer.
The concentration throughout is on produce that is wholesome, grown locally and organic, and the theme of the event is sustainable lifestyles and a green environment. A highlight this year is the Chef Duels, with the finest chefs in Sweden challenging each others’ skills before the crowd.
A Taste of Stockholm is the biggest event of its kind in Sweden and has been an annual fixture since 1991, when the human impact on the environment began to be keenly felt. In 2010 the event was certified by the Keep Sweden Tidy organisation.
The Swedish organic food label KRAV is a sponsor and restaurants that participate have to serve at least one dish that has been certified by them. The Stockholm Green cooperative is taking part in this year’s festivities to help promote a sustainable lifestyle from the grassroots up.
The Nordic Ecolabel, Keep Sweden Tidy and A Taste of Stockholm effectively all join forces in 2011 to promote organic food, grow-your-own and green lifestyles.
