Derby College Has Got Talent

This week is the grand final of Derby College's annual talent show.

Derby, United Kingdom, April 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Twelve finalists will battle it out in front of a panel of judges in a bid to crowned the Derby College Has Got Talent winner on Thursday April 14.

The finalists, who include musicians, dancers, singers and a magician, will perform in front of the judges and an audience of friends, family, students, staff and members of the public at The Roundhouse, starting at 7pm.

The judges at the event, organised by the Derby College Student Union, are College Principal David Croll, the Mayor of Derby Cllr Amar Nath, former Student Union president Amy Scott, Principal of Razzamataz Theatre School Shanley Booth and Derby LIVE Learning and Inclusion Manager Kim Miller.

More than 50 students and staff from throughout the College have entered heats for the competition across the College sites and 12 acts have been chosen for the final.

Student Union President Shareen Akhtar said: "The quality of the acts is outstanding in this our second year of the competition and we are looking forward to a really exciting final."

Tickets for the event are available on the night and cost £2 for the Student Union charity – Cancer Relief and the NSPCC.
