Girls on the Run of the Triangle Announces New Balance Girls on the Run 5K & Fun Run Presented by Quintiles - the Ninth Annual Event Will Take Place on Saturday, April 16
Girls on the Run of the Triangle (www.gotrtriangle.org) will host the Ninth Annual New Balance Girls on the Run 5K & Fun Run Presented by Quintiles. It will take place on Saturday April 16, 2011 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at American Tobacco Campus’ Diamond View Park. Post-race celebration will continue with a festival for people of all ages and will include a Kids Zone, interactive playgrounds, food, music, entertainment, and many more fun and exciting activities for families and kids.
Durham, NC, April 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Girls on the Run of the Triangle has announced that the Ninth Annual New Balance Girls on the Run 5K & Fun Run Presented by Quintiles will take place on Saturday April 16, 2011 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at American Tobacco Campus’ Diamond View Park. The race activities are open to male and female participants of all ages. The event this year will attract over 3,000 runners, volunteers, and supporters. Post-race celebration will continue with a festival for people of all ages and will include a Kids Zone, interactive playgrounds, food, music, entertainment/performances, and many more fun and exciting activities for families and kids of all ages.
Online registration for the timed and recreational 5K Run/Walk closes on April 15. Day of race registration for both the Timed and Recreational 5K Run/Walk and 100 Yard Dash are available.

About Girls on the Run of the Triangle
Girls on the Run of the Triangle is a chapter of Girls on the Run International established in 1996 by Molly Barker, a marathon runner and Ironman triathlete. Today, there are over 150 locations across the U.S. & Canada, with several new locations added yearly. The GOTR-Triangle chapter was founded in 2000 by Mandy Beard, a Durham, NC native. GOTR-Triangle has grown from serving 20 girls in 2001 to 800+ girls in 2011. We currently have programs throughout the Triangle in Durham, Wake, and Orange counties. GOTR uses the power of running and being active to change the way girls see themselves and their futures.
