LA Weekly Says: Go to "The Motor Trade"
The Motor Trade playing at Theatre/Theater on Pico is a hit in LA.
Los Angeles, CA, April 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Los Angeles Weekly says, “GO!”
Dan Martin (The Bold & The Beautiful, Gridiron Gang and CEO of Dangerous Photos) and Alex Morris (Malcolm in the Middle, Alias,) are “Priceless” onstage in Norm Foster’s dark comedy, The Motor Trade, currently running at Theatre/Theater 5041 Pico Blvd in Los Angeles.
Directed by Jeff Murray, produced by Nicolette Chaffey, and also starring Michele Harrell and Delaina Mitchell, The Motor Trade has been rocking audiences for weeks at the theater and has two more weekends left, closing Sunday, April 24th.
Morris as Phil “The Fro” Moss, and Martin as Dan Torelli portray two used car salesmen, just a couple of guys trying to get along, in Canadian playwright Norm Foster’s play, and it’s their struggle for meaning and clarity, as well as “Closing that sale” that beautifully supplies it’s abundant humor.
Great characters, dialogue, and acting that Steven Leigh Morris of the LA Weekly describes: “The two principal performances are priceless in Jeff Murray's staging. That acting and some of the comedic riffs in the writing are reason enough to see this play.” Audiences have been clapping and laughing non stop throughout the evening.
Martin, who got his early TV start in Canadian TV (Rin-tin-tin K9 Cop) was familiar with Foster’s work. “Norm Foster is quite prolific and very well known up there. When Jeff approached me about the play I snapped at the chance. Good choice, I’ve had a lot of fun.”
The audiences have had a lot of fun too.
