Rohrich Lexus Casino Night to Benefit Japan Disaster Relief
Rohrich Lexus to host a fundraising event with a casino night theme on Friday, April 15 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. This fundraiser will benefit relief efforts in Japan, and introduce the launch of the new Lexus CT 200H.
Pittsburgh, PA, April 14, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Rohrich Lexus, located in the South Hills, is hosting a fundraiser event with a casino night theme at the dealership on West Liberty Avenue, on Friday, April 15 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. This fundraiser will benefit relief efforts in Japan, as well as introduce the launch of the new Lexus CT 200H. Proceeds from the casino night will be donated to the American Red Cross for these efforts.
While guests engage in blackjack, poker, roulette, and slot machines, they will enjoy hors d’oeuvres along with donated items from Edible Arrangements, Emerald Valley Farm Artisan Cheese, Panera Bread, and Sarris Candies. At the end of the night, guests can also take part in a Chinese auction, where they have a chance to win luxury prizes, some of which include a Seven Springs getaway package and Ocean City Air Show trip.
On March 11, a massive 9.0-magnitude earthquake shook the northeastern coast of Japan, and not long after, a tsunami also struck the area. These disasters have caused significant damage in Northeastern Japan, as thousands of people are confirmed dead, injured, or missing, and millions of others are dealing with a lack of electricity, water, and transportation. More recently, on Thursday, April 7, a 7.1-magnitude earthquake struck Japan again.
The donations to the American Red Cross will support their relief efforts to help those affected by the earthquake in Japan and tsunami throughout the Pacific. On rare occasions when donations exceed American Red Cross expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters.
The Rohrich Lexus Casino Night event is consistent with Lexus’ initiatives to donate money to the American Red Cross for the Japanese recovery efforts. Thus far, donations from Lexus, its dealers, associates, suppliers, business partners, and friends have exceeded $5 million.
In 2005, Lexus began a Disaster Relief Fund as a result of Hurricane Katrina, and was able to address every claim for assistance from the Lexus dealership associates who were affected by the hurricane. With a balance of more than $209,000 remaining in the fund, Lexus is using this money to give a one-time grant to the American Red Cross on behalf of all Lexus dealers.
