Antivia Reunites Two Veterans of the Business Intelligence Arena
Leeds, United Kingdom, April 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Business Intelligence specialist Antivia, today announced that two veterans in the industry, Derek Taylor, founder and former CEO of Holistic Systems, and Donald MacCormick, former Chief Transformation Officer at SAP Business Objects, are to work together again at the company. For the past two years Taylor has been guiding Antivia as Chairman of the Board, while MacCormick has recently joined as Antivia's Chief Product and Marketing Officer.
MacCormick joins Antivia at a time of significant growth for the organization, which operates from offices in North America and Europe, as it continues to win major business with SAP customers and OEMs. Antivia's XWIS product now helps many SAP customers around the world to get the most out of their enterprise dashboards.
Donald MacCormick has spent the last 20 years in a variety of product management and marketing leadership roles, including joining Holistic Systems in the early 90s where he first met Taylor at an important phase in Holistic's growth. From there, MacCormick stayed with the business through three acquisitions by Crystal Decisions, Business Objects and finally SAP.
MacCormick is best known from his time at Business Objects where he was a vocal advocate, both internally and externally, for the Xcelsius product (now SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards). As MacCormick explains: "I was heavily involved with Xcelsius from before the acquisition and I knew it was something special from the very beginning. When we released the Xcelsius SDK I spoke to many partners about the opportunity it offered them but have always been most impressed with what Antivia built with it. It has been remarkable to watch the growth of XWIS from its earliest inception right up to today where SAP customers worldwide rely on XWIS to help them produce more dashboards, more quickly, with more interactivity, for less cost."
MacCormick continues: "With XWIS fast earning a reputation as a remarkable productivity tool for dashboard development and deployment, it's an exciting time to get involved. And, with the imminent launch of XWIS 3.0, I am confident we will help our customers to get more actionable dashboards in the hands of more users while at the same time significantly reducing the costs of development and ongoing support and maintenance."
Derek Taylor has spent the past forty years in the software and computer services industry. In London, in the late 80s, he founded Holistic Systems which delivered high performance Business Intelligence systems to organizations around the world. At its peak, Holistic employed over 350 people worldwide with multiple offices in the USA, Europe and in Asia. Holistic Systems was acquired by Seagate Software in 1996.
Since leaving Seagate, Taylor has been an investor, advisor and Chairman for a number of software companies and charities.
Mark Hudson, CEO of Antivia commented: "It's great to reunite Derek and Donald at this crucial period in Antivia's growth. Derek has started and grown multiple software companies, and Donald's understanding of the Business Intelligence marketplace is second to none. Their experience will help to ensure we maximize the potential of XWIS for our customers and partners."
