Postcode Anywhere Joins Wiggly Wigglers to Deliver Internet World Seminar
Ecommerce and social media experts to share best practice at digital marketing show
Worcester, United Kingdom, April 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Cost-saving business software specialists Postcode Anywhere will join forces with one of their customers, online gardening business Wiggly Wigglers, to deliver a seminar at this year’s Internet World show in May.
Internet World, now in its 19th year, is Europe's largest and longest-running annual event for digital marketing and online business. Wiggly Wigglers’ managing director Heather Gorringe will appear with Phil Rothwell, Postcode Anywhere’s sales and marketing director, for the seminar “Marketing in everything: why modern marketers need to be obsessed with the entire customer journey.”
Rothwell said: “Today’s customer journey has more touch points than ever before. The unique capabilities of Twitter, Facebook, webcasts and blogs are starting to be stretched. But it can be easy to see these opportunities as a threat, especially now we’ve seen the huge impact shifting consumer behaviour has had on the high street.
“The dominance of early movers into the online space, such as eBay and Amazon, are testament to the far reach of the web. But as secure as they are, these digital natives also need to constantly evolve with the medium. Social media’s incredible visibility and lack of friction in communication has empowered the consumer to such an extent that just one tweet can break a brand.
“The good news is that all of these new forms of media break down the barriers between business and consumer. It’s a two-way process: while the consumer is empowered, companies have the opportunity to communicate with them in a range of new ways. Smaller businesses in particular have a chance to grow at unprecedented rates and emulate the successes of the giants. One such company is Wiggly Wigglers, which has used a range of strategies to make their vision of a successful small business into reality.
“The point Wiggly Wigglers makes is clear: now isn’t the time to batten down the hatches. Nor is it the time to stick to dated standards of independent bricks-and-mortar shop fronts, clunky websites and token email newsletters. The key to future success is to realise that the customers’ experiences and journeys are now core to the marketing process. In my view, that’s a significant part of what Internet World is about in the first place, which is why it’s such an honour to be presenting there this year. Retailers are living in interesting times. Businesses old and new need to take heed of where consumer behaviour is heading.”
Wiggly Wigglers’ managing director Heather Gorringe said: “Without technology we wouldn’t be here. We live in a village with 63 people, and three times more cows than villagers. Internet-based services let us connect with our customers - most of which aren’t in Herefordshire. It’s the only way we could operate.”
The seminar will take place in the eCommerce, mCommerce & Fulfilment Theatre at Earls Court 2, Warwick Rd London from 15.45-16.15 on Tuesday 10th May.
