Rebel Pilgrim Productions Releases Hit Poker Comedy at Cincinnati Event

Cincinnati, OH, April 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The surprise hit independent comedy, Hitting The Nuts: The True Story of the Scott County Series of Poker, releases on DVD Friday, April 15th. It is being released in a limited initial run of DVDs, while entertaining offers for a larger distribution deal.

“It feels like it’s already a cult hit and it hasn’t even come out yet,” says Joe Boyd, the director and producer of the film. “The poker community has just taken to the clips and trailers online. We have already sold 50% of the initial run of DVDs in pre-orders. The poker world is getting behind it.” Boyd means “world” literally. DVD pre-orders have been streaming in from more than 15 countries over the last month.

Rebel Pilgrim Productions, the company behind the project, elected to hold the DVD release party in Cincinnati, where the movie was filmed. Several hundred people are expected to attend the event hosted by Go Bananas Comedy Club on Tuesday, April 19th at 8pm. Doors open at 7:30 for the 8:00 event. The movie will be sold at the party, but otherwise it is currently only available online at www.HittingTheNuts.com.

Hitting The Nuts is the winner of the 2010 Cincinnati International Film Festival and the 2011 Derby City Film Festival.
