Casey Cares Announces Baltimore’s 2nd Annual Green 5K Run/Walk on Earth Day
In honor of Earth Day, the Casey Cares Foundation announces the second annual Casey Cares Green 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, November 13th, 2011. The 3.1 mile run/walk course will begin at Pulse Health and Fitness Club in Sparks, MD and will also include a Family Fun Walk/Run, Kids Jammie Jog and musical entertainment.
Baltimore, MD, April 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- In honor of Earth Day, the Casey Cares Foundation is pleased to announce the second annual Casey Cares Green 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, November 13th, 2011. The 3.1 mile run/walk course will begin at Pulse Health and Fitness Club on York Road in Sparks, MD and will also include a Family Fun Walk/Run, Kids Jammie Jog and musical entertainment. The Casey Cares Foundation is a 501 c 3 charity that provides uplifting programs with a special touch to critically ill children and their families throughout Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region.
Registration information will be available through the website and event results will be posted online. There will be no new print materials for the event; all advertising will be done on-line or through existing publications. Runners will receive t shirts made from 100% post-consumer recycled content or organic cotton. Runners will also receive greening information and how to purchase carbon credits to offset the carbon emissions from their travel to the event. All signage will be biodegradable and/or made of post-consumer content recycled materials. All leftover food will be donated to the Hereford Food Bank. All winners of their category of race will receive an award made from 100% post-consumer content recycled material. Old running shoes will be recycled to Soles 4 Souls. The 5K website will be providing information to runners on how they can green their training.
