Fashion, Music, and Art at the Avalon
ETHOS fashion event brings its bold vision to Hollywood and Vine.
Los Angeles, CA, March 06, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Project Ethos’ “Outrageously Ripe”, is taking place on Friday, March 9th, 2007 at the world famous Avalon/Spider Club in Hollywood CA. Project Ethos is a company of young visionaries that produces this ongoing event in Los Angeles, showcasing all forms of creativity in one house, on one night. The Spider Club will house an Art Gallery and Live Music through the event. Meanwhile, a series of live concerts and a fashion show debuting L.A.'s best upcoming fashion designers will be taking place. All this followed by an after party with a live D.J. Tickets are $20.00 with a portion of the proceeds from all Project Ethos events given to various Arts charities.
By merging fashion, music, art and other forms of creativity into one, Ethos creates a new form of exposure for artists in general, as well as a fresh outing for any Angeleno looking for something fun and new to do. Project Ethos draws crowds in the thousands along with inviting buyers and press to help expose the craft of these upcoming artists. It also refreshes the Los Angeles night scene, giving event goers an alternative outing.
“We want to take Project Ethos all over the world, offering creative people an opportunity to share their visions and get their craft out into the marketplace,” explains founder and Director Heidi Luerra.
According to Jason Peskin, co-founder and Director of Marketing of Ethos,"When we received the email that Avalon wanted to bring Ethos to the their venue, our mouths dropped and we were very excited about their enthusiasm and interest." The Buzz that Project Ethos has created by changing people's lives and drawing massive crowds was the impetus for the famous and very sought after Avalon to reach out to this emerging powerhouse, and bring it to Hollywood and Vine.
Luerra and Peskin lead a team of over a dozen young and talented professionals who have set out to make history with Project Ethos. Luerra, a soon to be graduate of L.A.'s FIDM and experienced entrepreneur, knows many sides of the fashion and business worlds. She currently owns her own clothing line, has worked in retail management and managed a showroom that represented lines such as Penguin, Khaurana, and Eva Franco. Peskin, also an experienced entrepreneur, starting out producing concerts and clubs shortly after high school, later assisted in founding two other companies both specializing in marketing and sales. Those companies represented and designed marketing strategies for the Los Angeles Times newspaper Rolling Stone Magazine, Hearst Publishing and Bally Total fitness to name a few.
First opened in 1927, the Avalon Hollywood has played host to everything from Judy Garland television specials to the Beastie Boys. Extensive renovations and posh additions have brought the art deco landmark into the 21st century--think minimalist, modern decor; an outdoor smoking lounge with its own bar; an entirely new upper lounge built over the existing balcony; reserved seating; and a private club-within-a-club called the Spider. The impresarios behind the venture are a pair of ex-East Coasters with a string of successes, including the Limelight and Tunnel in New York, and Axis and Embassy in Boston.
Current Sponsors include MTV, 102.7 KIIS FM, John Casablancas, Paul Mitchell, Peroni Italy and Mary Kay Cosmetics. On air KIIS FM personalities Geena and Manny will be hosting.
