Rembrandt Supports UNICEF’s Youth Career Development Program
Bangkok, Thailand, April 29, 2011 --(PR.com)-- For the second consecutive year, Rembrandt Hotel is proud to support the Youth Career Development Program, a five-month life changing opportunity program managed by UNICEF. Nineteen young women were selected to participate in the 2011 Youth Career Development Program (YCDP), which will assist in providing long-term social and economic security, innovative life skills and occupational development in the hotel hospitality industry.
This year Rembrandt is proud to accept Khun Yanee Tamun, a high school graduate from Nan, Thailand, to undergo practical training for 20 weeks from April 25th to September 9th 2011. Khun Yanee will be undergoing training in the Housekeeping department for 9 weeks and F&B services for 11 weeks. According to UNICEF, the program has successfully facilitated skills training and employment opportunities for nearly 1,000 disadvantaged young women from poor families, particularly in the North and Northeast of Thailand.
Besides practical training, Rembrandt also collaborates with the Department of Skill Development to support her accommodation expenses and wages during her time in Bangkok.
“I would like to thank those who gave me an opportunity to participate in this program,” said Yanee. “It is my first time living in Bangkok, I am very nervous but everyone at Rembrandt are very helpful and friendly and have taught me many things so far.”
After complete the YCDP training, the trainees will also be eligible for full time employment at the Rembrandt Hotel.
Khun Vanaree Paopa, who participated in the 2010 Youth Career Development Program at Rembrandt Hotel, has been working as a fulltime cook assistant at Rembrandt’s Bakery department after completing her training program.
“My life is changing because of this program and all the kind-hearted people involved. It provided me a great opportunity to learn more about the hotel industry. The training is really great because I have gotten a chance to use all knowledge I have learned when it comes to my real job,” Vanaree said.
Rembrandt Hotel is honored to support the Youth Career Development Program as a part of its social responsibility efforts to provide future generations with the long term educational and occupational opportunity for them to grow.
