iGavel Auctions associate seller Nye & Company auction is now live, available for bidding, though May 10th
New York, NY, April 29, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The sale includes Fine Art, an assortment of evening bags, furniture, Native American items and Asian works of art.
There is a collection of approximately seventy lots of evening bags and accessories. With an eye for style, the collector compiled a broad and eclectic collection.
Highlights from this auction also include a Watercolor Landscape by Walter Lunt Palmer, works by Fred Schiller Cozzens, James McNeil Whistler, Anders Zorn, Roland Clark, and John Worf. There are bronzes by Pierre Jules Mene, Auguste Cain, and Prince Monyo.
Native American Baskets are included in this sale as well as a large amount of garden furniture, Statuary, and Cast-Iron Urns. Other ethnic objects include works such as a Borneo Fighting Shield, a Philippine Kalinga War Shield with Tattoo Paint, 19th Century, and a rare and unusual Trobriand Island Shield with Skull Image, 19th/20th Century. There are other examples of African and island-made objects included in this auction.
Nye & Company relocated to Montclair and Bloomfield, New Jersey making them more easily accessible from New York City. John and Kathleen Nye acquired Dawson’s after his long and fruitful Sothebys career.
