Overland Journal and Expedition Portal Jointly Announce 2011 Overland Rallies, Series of Regional Rallies and Workshops Continue to Grow
Overland Journal, the premier magazine devoted to overland expedition-style travel, and Expedition Portal, the international community of adventurers and overland travellers, have jointly announced the details of their 2011 regional Overland Rally series.
Prescott, AZ, April 29, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Overland Journal, the premier magazine devoted to overland expedition-style travel, and Expedition Portal, the international community of adventurers and overland travelers, have jointly announced the details of their 2011 regional Overland Rally series.
Brian McVickers, organizer of Expedition Portal's Overland Rallies and Workshops, presented by Equipt Expedition Outfitters, announced today the eagerly awaited details of this year’s series of regional rallies.
“The anticipation has been amazing,” said McVickers in a phone call from Phoenix AZ, “we have had constant emails and calls for the last 3 months from people wanting to schedule their summer holidays around these events. The community has really embraced the Rallies, and especially the workshop components.”
The Overland Rallies and Workshops are regional events focused on educating and inspiring people for overland travel while building the community in a relaxed and supportive environment. For 2011 they will be held in North Carolina, Washington, Vermont and California.
Overland Journal CEO and experienced overland instructor Scott Brady said “The demand for high-level instruction that we are seeing from the community is great to see. Previously some people would say - ‘I don’t need training, I know what I am doing’ - but now we are seeing a recognition that everyone, even the most experienced off-highway drivers and back-country enthusiasts can benefit from additional training - if it is offered at the right level - and that’s what these workshops provide.”
The workshops will cover 4WD, adventure motorcycle, travel logistics and preparation, wilderness medicine and photography; presented by some of the industry’s leading authorities, including Garrett Porterfield, Michael Boehm, Ben Edmonson, and a full team from Remote Medical International.
In addition to workshops, the events will also feature well-known world travelers, providing inspiration in presentations that mix humorous anecdotes and nail-biting adventures.
Christian Pelletier, global adventurer and President of Expedition Portal, was reached on a trip to France this week. He stated “Anyone looking to improve their 4WD or adventure motorcycle skills, create long lasting friendships, and spend time with manufacturers, business owners and product designers should attend. The quality of discussions at these events is truly phenomenal.”
Anyone who wants to attend Expedition Portal’s Overland Rallies and Workshops, presented by Equipt Expedition Outfitters, should visit www.overlandrally.com to register while they can, as space is limited.
