Combat Relief, a GHF program supporting American service members, veterans, and their families, is slated to begin a media contest that will foster creativity and camaraderie in the military community. The contest will run from May 1, 2011 until June 1st 2011. Contestants and their peers are encouraged to rate submissions on a four star system. The top rated submissions will be submitted to a panel of four esteemed judges for the final decision. Prizes will be awarded as follows: $800 cash to the first place winner, $200 to the second place winner and a showcase of all honorable mentions on the Grantfound.org website.

"We have taken extra steps to make the submission process beyond user friendly," explained Elena Grant, GHF President. "The submission process is as easy as uploading a photo with a short description. Don’t hesitate to upload several photos if they meet the criteria. There are many facets to being part of the military community and it is our goal to better understand this lifestyle through photos and videos."

The judging process has been designed to be user friendly, involving highly reputable judges from the entertainment industry and an intuitive voting system. Combat Relief will keep the names of their celebrity judging panel secret until the media contest’s opening day. Carl Langfeldt, Combat Relief’s Director of Operations said, “We have taken careful consideration in finding our judges, the element of surprise has created a contagious energy surrounding the media contest."

The Life During Deployment media contest can be found at http://grantfound.org/contest and details will be posted through all of the organization’s social media channels.
