Foster City, CA, May 01, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Allegro Music and Dance School has just announced a fundraising event on May 22, 2011. The proceeds of their spring concert will benefit Japan. The students at the music school are looking forward to raising funds for relief efforts, which will go toward assisting Japanese survivors and families of the recent earthquakes and tsunami disasters.
At the benefit concert the music school will also be announcing their new summer programs for students. Starting in June, Allegro Music and Dance School will begin their “Broadway: Learn from the Pros,” with Joss and Zaylin. This program is exclusive to Allegro, for children aged 6-14. The students will learn the fundamentals of Broadway song and dance. The program has three modules: Broadway 1, 2 and Tribute to Broadway, running until mid August. It has also been announced that the Student Orchestra has openings for musicians, and students of Allegro are encouraged to apply.
Another program at Allegro Music and Dance School is Drum and Percussion led by Joss Cano. The Drum and Percussion program provides a perfect transition into formal training, and provides a solid, rhythmical foundation for all musical instruments. Students will play the film and symphonic arrangements on percussion instruments including: marimba, xylophone, glockenspiel symphonic instruments and accessories. Students will have the opportunity to learn jazz and pop on a drum set, and all newly learned skills will be displayed with performances.
Allegro Music and Dance School will also be registering for their standard group and private lessons for music, dance, and theater for the summer and fall. Students are encouraged to sign up and book their spots early.
As students are preparing for the May 22 fundraiser they’re promoting the event on the Allegro website, Facebook and Twitter, and inviting friends and family to watch them perform their developing arts and talents. It will be an exciting evening for teachers and students, and everyone is motivated by contributing to a worthy cause.
For tickets or more information on summer and fall programs, the music school encourages interested parties in Foster City and surrounding areas to call or email for details.
