Vertical MSP Success Proves Acceptance of Cloud Backup
With cloud computing on the rise, several companies now focus on making cloud backup even better.
Agoura Hills, CA, May 05, 2011 --(PR.com)-- While experts still argue about the acceptance of cloud computing, the industry has already taken its choice. Data protection specialist, NovaStor has talked to long-term customers and found that vertical industry offerings, such as the services provided by FRED IT and others, have already convinced companies of the need for cloud computing, storage, and furthermore, backup.
SMB spending on cloud computing is estimated to approach $100 billion according to recent research released by AMI Partners, SMB spending on cloud computing will approach $100 billion by 2014. Merrill Lynch estimates that the cloud computing market will grow by $160 billion by 2014. Numbers and estimates aside, it goes unsaid that SMBs are swiftly adopting cloud services and are doing so for good reasons: it’s a cost-reduction strategy and to enable greater agility.
Cloud services adoption increased significantly during the first half of 2010. IT management software maker, Spiceworks found that 14 percent of SMBs reported that they use cloud computing services and another 10 percent expect to deploy cloud services in the very near future. With computing and storage moving to the cloud, companies are now also beginning to understand the importance of cloud backup.
Several companies have launched or are in the process of launching an online backup service and have good reason to expect a successful new business field. The success is proven by companies such as Australia’s largest IT solution provider, FRED IT, who has launched an online backup service in 2006. Today, the Fred IT Group is Australia’s largest IT solution provider to the pharmacy industry, serving over 3,000 customers throughout the country with managed IT services. A detailed case study is available from NovaStor.
"Data protection services are particularly popular with customers, as data availability is a must, but hardly ever does a company engage an administrator who maintains a professional infrastructure,” says Mike Andrews, Managing Director at NovaStor. “Managed Service providers, such as FRED IT though, offer welcome solutions for these companies and often become long-term business partners."
