Famed Seattle Attorney Anne Bremner and Literary Manager Sharlene Martin Sign Gaby Rodriguez for Management and Representation
Seattle, WA, May 05, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Gaby Rodriguez, the 17 year old high school student from Yakima, WA, who became an international story last week by pretending she was pregnant for a “stealth social experiment” about stereotypes, has announced that she has signed for representation and management of her life and story rights with Anne Bremner, famed Seattle attorney and Sharlene Martin of Martin Literary Management.
Rodriguez, a student leader with a 3.8 GPA, became branded with a Scarlet “P” while secretly doing this experiment – which she undertook with the knowledge and cooperation of her school science teacher, the school principal, her boyfriend and of course her mother.
At an all- school assembly last week, Rodriguez removed her “baby belly” before the stunned students and apologized for misleading everyone while also sharing some of what she had learned about how gossip and rumors and “social branding” caused her reputation to plummet.
Over 100 requests from media, networks, film producers and book publishers have been logged in an overwhelming response in the few days since this story broke. Gaby’s explanation: “The point I was trying to get across is that you have to take control of your life and not live your life in the shadows of stereotypes and rumors...I had no idea my project would get this much attention.” She hopes that this social experiment will help to shed light on the social aspects of teen pregnancy.
