Blinds On Sale Completes Fully Integrated Web Site Redesign
Oklahoma City, OK, May 05, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Blinds On Sale, a leading supplier of high-quality window blinds, shades, shutters and other window treatments has completed the redesign of its web site at blindsonsale.com, providing customers with a fully interactive, data-driven model for customizable measuring, design and ordering purposes.
Tom Rolen, president of BlindsOnSale.com, who started the business with his wife Barbara more than 30 years ago, said that while other family-owned and small businesses were holding back on capital expenditures during the recession, his company made the decision early on to invest $100,000 in the redesign of its online retail storefront to prepare for an economic rebound.
“We made the decision to revamp our web site in the middle of the downturn because on the one hand we had the time since business was slow,” Rolen said. “But we also knew that we needed to prepare for the turnaround and that when the economy did finally start picking up again we’d offer a completely new approach to our online business model.”
Blinds On Sale’s new site replaces its former static-page format and allows customers to view the company’s complete inventory of window treatments, from plantation shutters to cellular shades, and plug in their own parameters for pricing, size and colors for a completely customized user experience.
“We’re very excited about the features of our new site because it allows our customers to both view pricing details for every product available and possible sizes, and to narrow down their searches, which we know is a highly popular function tool,” Rolen said. “Our goal is to simply enhance the online experience for our customers while optimizing their ability to quickly locate exactly what they need.”
BlindsOnSale.com was the first window treatment company in Oklahoma to move from a brick and mortar operation in 1999 to the Internet. It was a risk Rolen’s colleagues in the industry didn’t exactly support, and he added, “People told us we were crazy when we first moved online. They said the Internet was a fad.”
More than twelve years later, Blinds On Sale collaborates with many of the industry’s top designers and is considered one of the leading providers of high-quality window treatment products, all of which are backed by a limited warranty and quality guarantee.
Blinds On Sale is also involved in giving back. Its affiliation with online charitable foundation, Lifetroops.com, provides care packages for local war veterans and to troops deployed overseas. The foundation recruits businesses for help in provide veterans and active soldiers with clothing, food products and other much-needed items.
